Stay at a Cabo San Lucas Resort for 1 Week (from Evan Lee)

This penthouse unit is incredible. It is ~3,300 sq ft and has three bedroom suites (each with its own bathroom). There is a private Jacuzzi on the unit's terrace, overlooking the ocean. Maid service every day. A bunch of beautiful swimming pools with swim-up bars. The unit sleeps as many as 12 people (10 comfortably). The resort's "rack rate" for this unit is $13,000 a week; on the secondary market, it usually rents out for $2500-3000 a week.

The penthouse has been reserved for the week of May 17-24 for this year. That should be ideal for 1st or 2d year students, as it comes right after graduation. For 3d year students, the reservation could be switched to the first or second week in October, when they would be awaiting bar results. The weather in Cabo during May is very temperate. July, August, and September are generally too hot, but by the beginning of October the weather is quite nice again.

1-Week Stay in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico.

SMA 1 SMA 2 SMA 3 SMA 4

Enjoy a 7-day stay in a family home in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico. It's a 4 bedroom, 3 bath, and sleeps up to 7 people. Full pictures at: http://www.vrbo.com/73989

Nestled high in the cool hills of the Mexican altiplano, San Miguel De Allende is one the hippest, busiest, most charming towns in Mexico. This seductive little city - with clear nights and warm days -- also offers the alternative traveler numerous inexpensive and high-quality opportunities to study Spanish or the arts. In 2008, SMA became a Unesco World Heritage Site, a distinction that few places in the world can claim.

Two restrictions: 1) winning bid minimum $875, 2) trip completed within 1 yr of auction.

Here's a recent NY times article on SMA: http://travel.nytimes.com/2009/12/27/travel/27hours.html
