Grants
Who can apply?
HPILF summer grants are primarily meant for applicants with financial need arising
from their employer's inability to fund summer work.
What is considered "public
interest"?
Applicants must articulate how their summer work will serve the public
interest. HPILF uses a broad definition of public interest when determining
which applicants and organizations are eligible for funding. Applicants
must articulate how their summer work will serve the public interest.
Students working with organizations including 501(c)(3) non-profit
organizations, government agencies, international organizations, and
advocacy or policy groups are all eligible.
Who is not eligible for a grant?
HPILF does not fund students working in for-profit enterprises or on
political campaigns.
